There are many different barbell types. Some are only used for specific piercings, and others can be used for several piercings. For example, the industrial barbell is designed specifically for the industrial piercing in the cartilage.

Aside from the industrial barbell, below are some of the main barbell types.

Straight barbells are suitable for numerous piercing types, and they are often available in quite a few different sizes. From the cartilage to the tongue or nipple, you can be creative with the straight barbell.

Tongue barbells are a specific type of straight barbells. Some barbells come with plating or coating, making them unsuitable for a tongue piercing. In this category, you will find all barbells suitable for a tongue piercing.

Curved barbells can be used for eyebrow piercings, various cartilage piercings, lip piercings, and much more. Belly button piercings are also curved barbells, but they have their own category.

Titanium

The best quality material you can buy. Titanium barbells are free of nickel and are extremely durable as well. Titanium is normally used as the initial piercing when first getting pierced.

Acrylic

Acrylic barbells are often colorful and always affordable. Acrylic barbells are slightly flexible, durable, and easy to clean, they are an essential part of any barbell collection.

14 Kt. Gold

A barbell made of 14 kt. gold can be a great option. Not only do barbells made of 14 kt. gold has a luxurious look, they are also nickel-free when you get Yellow or Rose Gold. This is a durable material but unfortunately not suitable for tongue piercings.

Barbell Piercing Aftercare

Whichever piercing you have, aftercare is always important. Our aftercare products can be used in combination with most barbell piercings. For a tongue piercing, it’s advised to only use a normal saline solution without tea tree.

We recommend getting a Piercing Care Package when you suffer from irritations on or around the piercing area. For daily aftercare, a simple Salt Spray will be sufficient in most situations.
